Drawings are lava’s and chrysalises and silkworms. They’re free and speedy and hate rules the most. They’re where ideas play.

The thing is, too, drawings are wonderfully notoriously rebellious. They don’t tell you what they intend to be:

Stories, Paintings, Sculptures, Tapestries, Poems, or just things to carry around in your pockets for a while or for a long time, keeping company with the string and the wire and the peanut butter labels and the stamps for letters, like in the olden days.
